After adding your photos to your portfolio, our team of moderators will check that they meet our criteria to appear in the LookBook.
This is so we can make sure we’re only displaying photos of looks that your browsing customers can book with you, preventing any surprises on the day of their appointment.
Our moderators may remove a photo from the LookBook if:
It’s of your salon or business location
Those images should live on your marketplace listing, which customers can check during their booking process.
It’s not a final look
For customers to understand the service they’re booking, they need to see the final look. Therefore, you should avoid adding photos of a work in progress or of somebody performing the treatment.
It’s a low-quality photo or is heavily filtered
The LookBook is the place to showcase what sets you apart from other salons that offer similar treatments in your area. Using a blurred photo or adding a heavy filter can cause confusion and make customers less likely to book the service.
If the client in your photo isn’t happy to have their face shown, try taking the photo from their side profile or back of the head. Remember, they need to give you their permission to have their photo online.
It’s a before shot or contains multiple different looks in one collage
Each of the photos added to the LookBook should represent one service that’s available for customers to book. We also randomise the order that photos appear in the LookBook, so if you upload a 'before and 'after' shot separately, there’s no guarantee that a ‘before’ photo will appear next to the ‘after’ photo.
Therefore, if it’s not clear which service you’re displaying, or you’ve included a collage of multiple looks, we’ll remove the image.
In the near future, we’ll allow you to add a mini carousel of photos to display the finished look from different angles, perspectives, as well as show off your working process.
It’s not an image of a hair treatment
To begin with, we’ve only launched the LookBook for hair services and treatments. If you add a picture of another treatment, such as lashes or brows, we’ll remove the photo.
Don’t worry, we’re working on expanding the LookBook for other treatment types as quickly as possible, and we’ll let you know when it’s your time to shine.
The same rules apply for adding pictures of the products that you use, or profile pictures of your team members.
It’s an advertisement
We’ll remove photos that include your contact details, social media handles, stock photos or other advertising material which can detract from the customer’s booking experience.
This also applies to photos that are screenshots from another platform, or include the logo from another site, including Facebook and Instagram.
By following the guidelines above, we shouldn’t have any reason to remove your photos. However, in some rare cases, for example, if we believe it isn’t your intellectual property, we do retain the right to do so.
