Checking out your appointments is the best (and only) way to get use out of the various reports available to you. This is because appointments will only appear in your reports once they’ve been checked out, and always on the day that the checkout has been performed.
Connect reports help you to analyse your stats, monitor your business trends and see what changes would best benefit your salon. Here’s how to do it.
To check out an appointment:
- Click on the appointment in the calendar
- Check that the appointment details are correct, and click “checkout” in the bottom left corner
- On the next screen, you have the opportunity to add any products or vouchers that the customer has purchased at the salon (this is important for your accounting and stock management).
- Once you’re confident that the details and price is correct, click complete
- This booking will now appear on your sales reports for this day.
If you’ve checked out a booking incorrectly, it’s possible to reverse the checkout in order to process it again.
To reverse a checkout:
- Click on the appointment in the calendar
- At the bottom of the box that opens, you’ll see the date and time that the booking was checked out
- Click the date and time
- In the next screen, leave a note and click ‘Refund’*
- You can now repeat the process of checking out the booking
*Don’t worry, clicking refund here will not process a refund for the customer, even if they have prepaid for their appointment. This functionality only applies to our partners using the POS system.
Limitations
For the time being, if you include the sale of a product (for example, a shampoo or conditioner) when checking out a booking, this product sale cannot be reversed. You’ll need to adjust your inventory manually on the ‘Products’ page, and remember to exclude this sale when reviewing your ‘Product Sales’ report.
