Here are the answers to questions we’re often asked about adding ‘Book Now’ buttons to your social media.
Adding the buttons through Connect
What if I get an ‘Oops something went wrong’ message after going through the steps?
Seeing an ‘Oops something went wrong’ message after you’ve clicked ‘Link profiles’ and have gone through the steps in Connect means there was an error and buttons weren’t added to your social media profiles.
This could happen for a number of reasons because multiple platforms – Connect, Facebook, and Instagram – are part of the set-up process.
→ Reload the page, then click on ‘Link profiles’ and repeat all steps again.
What if a red error message appears saying that my account ‘is in bad standing’, is ‘under review’, or is ‘prohibited from advertising’?
This may mean something’s not quite right with your Facebook business page.
→ Set up a new business manager account on Facebook – then try linking profiles through Connect again. How to set up a business manager on Facebook
What if I see a red error message saying the name I’ve entered can’t be used for my page?
This could mean your business page isn’t set up correctly – or you may have selected the wrong Facebook page. This could also happen when you create a new page instead of using your current one.
→ Get in touch with Facebook for help – then try linking profiles through Connect again once they’ve fixed the issue.
I see a red error message that says ad accounts are not yet confirmed or set up properly. What should I do?
This could also mean that your business page isn’t set up properly.
→ Best to reach out to Facebook for help – then try linking profiles through Connect again once they’ve fixed the issue.
What if the booking button only appears on Facebook, not Instagram?
This could be because your Facebook and Instagram accounts aren’t linked.
→ Link your Facebook to your Instagram accounts – then try linking profiles through Connect again.
What if the button was added to the wrong Facebook business page?
If the link was inserted into an incorrect Facebook page, you’ll need to:
→ Click ‘Unlink’ to disconnect your social media from Connect, then link it again. Make sure you choose the correct Facebook page when going through the steps (you can only link Connect to one Facebook page, and one Instagram page).
I have two Instagram accounts linked to the same Facebook page, but the button only appears on one of them.
The button can only be added to one Facebook page and one Instagram account, so you should choose the Instagram account that you most actively update (or that has most followers).
Adding the buttons through Facebook or Instagram
When I go through the steps to add the button through Instagram or Facebook, it says that the venue is already linked, but there's no button on the page.
If you're already linked your accounts through Connect, but for some reason, the button doesn't appear on Instagram, it won't be possible to manually add the button to Instagram.
→ Make sure your Facebook and Instagram accounts are linked. Then, go to Connect and unlink profiles. Once you've unlinked Connect from your social media, click 'Link now' to link them again.
If your Instagram and Facebook accounts are set up correctly, the button will appear on both sites.
