There’s a quick and easy way to add a booking button to your Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger through Connect.
This allows you to start accepting appointments on social media right away – and gives you access to many additional tools to manage and grow your business. It’s a powerful way to grow your business through social media – and it can be set up in just under 2 minutes.
Before you begin, make sure you link your Facebook account to your Instagram business profile. Here's how.
A step-by-step guide to accepting bookings via social media
Step 1: Open up Connect on your laptop, then head to Marketing > Facebook & Instagram
Step 2: Once you’re on the Facebook & Instagram tab, click ‘Link now’
Step 3: If you’re already logged in to Facebook in another tab, you’ll see ‘Continue as [your username]’. If this isn’t the account you want to use, just log in using another account.
Step 4: You’ll then see a list of goals Facebook can help you achieve – like creating ads for your salon and understanding your traffic. Click ‘Continue’ to confirm you’re happy to link your store (that is, your salon) to Facebook.
Step 5: Next, select a Business Manager account – or create a new one. Facebook Business Manager is a tool that allows you to manage your salon page on Facebook – like run and track your ads – without using your personal account.
You’re likely to have a preexisting Business Manager account if you actively use Facebook to advertise your salon or to interact with your followers.
Step 6: Now, select a Facebook page you want to add your Book Now button to, or create a new one. This should be your salon’s business page.
Make sure this Facebook page is linked to your Instagram business account so that a Book Now button is added to your salon’s Instagram, too.
- Switch to an Instagram business account: If you’re using a personal Instagram profile for your business, you’ll need to switch to a business account. That’s easy to do – just open Instagram and follow these steps.
- Link your Instagram account to Facebook: To find out how to link your Instagram page to your Facebook page, click here.
- Connect Instagram to a different Facebook page: If you need to change the Facebook page your Instagram is connected to, read this post.
Step 7: Next, select a Facebook pixel. Facebook pixel is an analytics tool that you can use to see how well your advertising is doing by understanding the actions people take on your website. If you don’t have one yet, follow the steps to create a new one.
Step 8: Next, select or create a Catalog – a Facebook tool that allows you to manage inventory. It stores information about the products and services you want to advertise and sell on Facebook and Instagram.
Step 9: Click ‘Done’ to give Facebook some basic permissions (make sure you keep these options set to ‘Yes’ so that everything works smoothly)
Step 10: And – you’re all set! You’ve linked Connect to your social media pages – and your Book Now buttons will appear on them soon.
