Chances are, even when the lockdown is lifted, you may not be able to reopen your salon right away. If you need a little more time to prepare for opening your doors again, that's fine – but there are a few important things you will need to do in Connect to make sure your clients know you're not open yet.
Block your Connect calendar
When lockdown ends, the block in your Connect calendar will be automatically deleted so that you can begin accepting bookings right away. This means that, if you remain closed for a little while longer, you'll need to block your Connect calendar yourself to avoid bookings coming in when you're closed.
To do that, go to Connect on your desktop, click on the day, and the time you would like to block the Calendar from, then Block. Under Team member, choose For all team members, then select your Start Date and End Date.
Reschedule existing appointments
If there are any existing bookings for the time period you plan to remain closed – either made through Treatwell's app, website, booking widget or directly with you – you'll need to reschedule them. Doing so is easy – just follow the simple steps in this article.
As always, clients will appreciate it if you get in touch with them beforehand (after all, they'd been looking forward to this appointment for a while). Make sure you get in touch about the changes to create a sense of trust between you and your clients – and rearrange the appointment for when you're open.
Get ready to reopen
So that you don’t have to do everything at the last minute, it's a good idea to start preparing for reopening your salon. We've written a Guide to reopening your salon after the pandemic, covering all the ways Connect can help you get ready to reopen (from maximising your marketing reach to making sure your menu is spot on). Have a look to make sure you're ready for the big day.
