Fill your days with even more great clients with bookable processing time
The long-awaited moment is here – you can now add processing time to hair colouring appointments! It’s a smart way to optimise your business hours and take on more clients without working longer hours. Plus, building it into your hair colouring services takes seconds.
To add processing time to a hair colour service, head to your Menu page and click on the specific service. Scroll down until you see a checkbox titled ‘Use processing time’ – and make sure it’s ticked.
Bear in mind that you’ll automatically be bookable during processing times – so only add it if you want clients to be able to book you.
You decide if a patch test is needed
Patch testing is crucial in the beauty industry – and it’s every salon’s responsibility to make sure these tests are carried out. Since you’re the beauty expert, it makes sense that the decision whether or not a patch test is required should sit with you – which is why it’ll now be in your hands.
For all beauty services that normally need a patch test (for example, hair colouring, eyelash tinting or laser treatments), you will be the one who decides whether to invite your clients in for a patch test prior to the appointment. You can do so by ticking the ‘Patch test required’ box in the service window. Your clients will be notified that they need to book a patch test with you before the treatment.
If you don’t think a patch test is required (because you know the ingredients used are 100% safe, for example), simply untick the ‘Patch test required’ box.
Get notified about upcoming appointments
Wouldn’t it be great to receive a push notification 15 minutes before your next appointment? You’d know who to expect, and what prep you need to do – making it easier to stay organised (especially when you’re really busy).
Well, good news – you can now enable these push notifications in your Notifications tab under Settings (on your tablet or computer).
We’ve marked clients who need to prepay
Each client who you’ve set as ‘require to prepay’ will now be marked with a red prepay flag. This means you and your team will know whether the client has ever missed appointments and should prepay as a result.

Reviews are something every beauty business needs to attract new clients – and we’re making it even easier to start collecting them.
The initial review requests (which you can send to 10 clients as soon as you become a Treatwell partner) have become more client-friendly. Clients will no longer need to rate every single treatment you offer – but will only be asked for an overall rating and comment. Leaving a review will be less time-consuming – and should encourage more clients to do it.
