Sending a marketing email to your clients? Here’s our list of tips to remember in order to stay GDPR compliant when using our CRM tool.
Connect only emails clients who have consented and are marked as opted-in in the Client Card. We make sure that those obtained via Treatwell are 100% compliant and accurate , but it is your responsibility to make sure those you obtain directly from clients are accurate too.
Connect gives you the ability to record client opt-in consent, so remember to record client consent accurately (including date, time and how the client consented).
Remember: only send emails to clients who have consented to receive them.
If a client unsubscribes
A client can unsubscribe via the link sent in the body of these emails, so we can be sure all emails meet GDPR requirements and that consent records are accurately updated if someone changes their mind about receiving emails.
Remember: don’t send marketing emails to clients without an unsubscribe link.
Keep your client email addresses within Connect
We will ensure all details in Connect are secure and that no client is sent emails if they have not agreed to receive them.
If you store client email addresses outside of Connect or email clients separately, there is a much greater risk of you breaching GDPR.
Only talk about your services
The CRM tool provides you with customisable templates, so while you can change the content yourself, you should only send clients content about your hair and beauty services offered at your own salon.
Remember: Don’t adapt the copy to talk about unrelated services to your salon, like other businesses/salons, shops, restaurants etc.
How often to send these emails
Our CRM tool gives you control to send emails as often as you like, but it prevents spamming by ensuring that any one client will only receive one email in the span of 14 days.
Remember: Too many emails might be off-putting for clients or lead them to unsubscribe, so make sure to use audience filters to tailor comms to the right group of people.
