Taking advantage of the holiday period, we placed a lot of our focus on tending to improvements that needed improving and the bugs that were well, bugging us. That’s why this week we’ll be talking more about the glitches we’ve fixed, rather than new features we’re rolling out.
Here is what we've been working on:
Manage your product list on the go
Managing your products is vital for any salon, and we’ve now improved the way you can do this via the app. We introduced the product list feature to Connect iOS, so you’re no longer restricted to adding, updating and managing your products on just the web version.
Before, you could only manage your products during checkout, but we know how important it is to keep up to speed with everything going on in your salon, anywhere, anytime. This is just a first step towards creating a fully featured product management functionality on mobile, and Android will follow shortly.
A better POS experience
We’re constantly updating and reviewing our POS systems to make this a better experience for both you and your customers. The Connect app is now ready to launch POS in Italy, which means you’ll finally be able to print checkout receipts on templated paper with custom text at the bottom, something you couldn’t previously do.
Refund prepaid widget bookings
Plans change, it happens. In the rare scenario you can’t reschedule a customer’s appointment when they’ve already prepaid, you can now refund your customers in Connect iOS, even after the established timeline for this has passed. This means you’ll no longer have to go through us to apply the refund, saving you time and reducing everyone’s stress, essentially.
Embed the “Book Now” widget into your website
Getting your customers to book appointments with you just got easier and smarter. Before, by adding the “Book Now” widget, customers who booked your services were redirected to a Treatwell source. Now we’ve given you the option to embed the “Book Now” widget into your website, meaning that customers will be able to view your full menu and book your services without ever having to leave your site. It’s the perfect option if you want to be more in keeping with the look and feel of your salon, and you will give your customers a streamlined, simple booking experience.
Invite customers to rebook your services
We’ve enhanced the way you send rebook reminders to customers whose usual stylist has left or stopped working at your salon. This way you don’t have to worry about missing out on returning clients. You can send them reminders to rebook with your salon, instead of with a former stylist.
Adding minimum height for tablet modals
Our tablet modal windows were far too small and at times produced a screen flickering issue. Well, it wasn’t a trick of the light and that’s on us, but now they fit the screen size better and polished its look. No more squinting, thank you very much.
Entering client details for new clients
You no longer have to enable "the edit client details" setting to enter client details for new customers.
Selecting treatment length
Whenever anyone tried to change the duration of a treatment on the calendar in the French version of Connect on Android, the selection for 0 hours was displayed as 1 hour. This was confusing, we know. It’s now sorted.
Salon IQ feeds displayed odd behaviour
SalonIQ and Connect weren’t linking/syncing properly, causing disruptions across the salons who use both calendar management systems. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. It’s now working.
That’s what we’ve been up to over the festive period, carrying out a thorough de-bugging of Connect. This doesn’t mean we haven’t been working on other things. For our next release in two week’s time, we’ll be announcing a few new features we think you’ll really like. This includes a brand new restocking feature on Connect, where you’ll be able to order products easily from your favourite suppliers, and a seasonal email campaign you won't be able to resist. More on that soon…
