Trying to juggle your bookings can be time-consuming. We know how often things can change: from clients rescheduling to swapping appointments with a colleague, it can be tough to keep track.
We think that managing your business online should make things easier. So we’ve built two exciting features to your Connect app that’ll make things simpler and free up your time in the process. Result.
The Connect Activity Log
The sooner you know about a change in your diary, the better.
The Activity Log allows all those who need access to appointments (receptionists, stylists, salon owners…) to be up to date with the Connect calendar by showing all changes to online bookings.
Any online bookings made, amended, cancelled or rescheduled will be listed, alongside the time, date, type of booking and employee who’ll be carrying it out. It’s a crucial way to keeping your finger on the pulse and make sure you always know what’s going on. Don’t forget - walk-ins can be added in a matter of seconds too.
How can I see the Activity Log?
Make sure you’ve set your permissions set to at least ‘View others’ calendars’ in order to get access to the Activity Log. If you haven’t done this, you’ll miss out. For more on employee permissions, click here for our step by step guide on getting them set up for you and your team.
Where can I find the Activity Log?
The Activity Log is found on the right-hand side of your Connect screen – look for the 🔔 icon and click on it to reveal all your online booking updates. Simple!
Anything else I should know?
It’s colour coded to make things even easier for you. Today’s appointments are bright green to emphasis the time of the booking, while appointments that might not have been seen yet are shown on in light green.
Lastly, if you click on something in the Activity Log, it’ll show up immediately in your Connect Calendar – meaning you don’t have to search way back to find the appointment you’re after.
Connect app push notifications for employees
The Connect app makes it simple to manage bookings on the move. That’s not just for business owners though - it’s been built with all employees in mind.
Our latest feature will keep you in the loop so you know about any (and all) changes made to the bookings that are specific to you - without you having to do anything. So that means if you’ve only got access to your column, you’ll only see changes relevant to you.
Once you’ve got the Connect app downloaded, it’ll ask you to agree to receiving notifications. Once you’ve done that, it’ll let you know if an appointment is booked, set as a no-show, cancelled, rescheduled or reassigned (to another employee).
Just an FYI, notifications are not sent if you book or change an appointment yourself – they’ll only be sent if a change is made by someone else (namely a receptionist, another member of staff or a client who’s booked directly online via Treatwell or your ‘Book now’ widget).
How do I enable push notifications?
To get the most of this feature, you need to:
- Have a login for Connect;
- Download the Connect app (via the App Store or Play Store);
- Log into the Connect app and accept to receive push notifications (this is done automatically for Android, but iOS users will be asked to accept once they’ve downloaded the app);
- Make sure you have employee notifications enabled in Settings - head to Connect, click on 'Notifications' and then the tab which says 'Contacting You' (screenshot below).
Anything else I should know?
Notifications are sent with sound (or vibration, in silent mode) for appointments scheduled for today or tomorrow. For further appointments and notifications sent between 8pm and 8am, notifications are set to silent so they don’t disturb you.
